When creatively managing the needs of a contemporary brand, it can be challenging - or worse, off-mission - to indulge one’s love of throwback pastiche, but when looking for ways to promote a programming block that go beyond the standard “up first … and then …” format, the best way forward can sometimes be a look back.

For ages, I’ve been obsessed by the WOR 4 O’Clock Movie open, and jumped at the chance to recreate its spline choreography. (Imagine my delight when I found that the music bed from the WOR original was in one of the stock libraries we used for that extra bit of authentic recreation.)

Featuring an appropriately fuzzed-out sound mix and vintage-style read, this spot bridges the old and the new, using classic dynamism to hype Disney Channel’s slate of hits.
